“Hamish needed to do more exercise and he already knew and liked Chris from his work with a local mental health charity. I also knew that 1:1 training sessions would be a good approach because Hamish isn’t comfortable in large groups.
Although Hamish is quick to tell me if he doesn’t like something, he seems to really enjoy his time with Chris. He sends me photos of the weights he has lifted – his ‘personal bests’ or PBs! – and Chris knows exactly how to motivate him. He’s patient and kind, and they talk about lifestyle choices and nutrition, too.
Training with Chris has given Hamish a real boost: his confidence is better, he’s more enthusiastic about fitness and exercise, and improving on his PBs has given him a sense of achievement. I genuinely think Chris is brilliant at what he does.”
